Simon Michael (1905 - 2002) -
If one were reduced to a single word to describe Michael's art
that word would have to be "COLOR". A complex
individual, Simon Michael had an unparalleled love of life, and
he viewed the world as few others saw it. He spent his entire
life devoted to art. A recognized master of oil, acrylic,
watercolor and sculpture, he had an equally honored reputation
as a teacher. He was a colorist in the full sense of the word.
"Give them diamonds and rubies" he would tell his
students. Simon Michael's first exhibition was held in Paris in
1924. For almost a century he spent his life creating, teaching
and collecting fine art.
